Post Treatment Care
After any Laser Tattoo Removal treatment it is common to experience blistering, pin point bleeding, some swelling, bruising and potentially some lightening of the skin. We will go over any side effects in the consultation and patch test with you before your first treatment.
- The sterile dressing provided can be removed once you return home to let the area breath. It is advised not to wear any tight/rubbing clothing on the treated area whilst it is healing.
- Make sure the treated area is clean and dry throughout the healing process. You may gently cleanse the treated area with clean warm water after 2 hours, then pat to dry.
- SPF 50 should be applied to all exposed treatment areas for 4 weeks after treatment. Excessive UV exposure can cause hypo or hyper pigmentation of the skin.
- Do not touch any blisters that form. Picking/popping any blisters during the healing process may lead to serious side effects and infection. Some blisters may rupture on their own. In the event that this happens, apply a thin layer of antibiotic ointment onto the affected area until the skin has healed.
- Vitamin A & D, or Vitamin E cream may be applied 5 days after treatment to help aid healing and prevent scarring.
For the next 48 hours after all treatments
- 100% Aloe Vera Gel is advised to sooth the area in the days after treatment. A cold compress may also be used to help reduce inflammation/swelling.
- Avoid soaking the treated area in water ie. baths, jacuzzis, swimming pools. This should be avoided throughout the period where there are any scabs/blisters present to avoid infection.
- Keep hydrated to help flush out the ink particles and any toxins successfully.
